Norwich City were denied a dream start to their Premier League campaign at Carrow Rd as Kenwyne Jones headed in a last ditch equaliser to cancel out Richie De Laet opener.
Paul Lambert’s expression said it all as he had seen his charges hold out with 10 men for nearly half an hour, following the harsh sending off of Barnett, but just couldn’t see the game out at the last knockings. Tony Pulis was absolutely elated at the late equaliser and the Stoke boss will arguably see it as their just rewards for their effort and endeavours in a game.
A draw was probably the fair result in a game that neither side really deserved to win, although Norwich fans will feel aggrieved at their side’s failure to record their first Premier League win of the season. Paul Lambert will undoubtedly be happy at the Canaries start and the opening two points on the board will certainly give them confidence for the season ahead.
