Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has been mocked by a bookmaker following the club’s poor start to the season. Amorim has come under fire following an early run which has seen the Red Devils win just one of their opening four Premier League games and suffer an embarrassing Carabao Cup exit at the hands of League Two minnows Grimsby Town.
Criticism rife following United's derby-day loss at Man City
United are reeling following their comfortable 3-0 defeat against fierce rivals Manchester City in last Sunday’s derby at the Etihad Stadium. Amorim’s side also lost to Arsenal and drew with Fulham in their first two fixtures, though they did beat Burnley 3-2 at Old Trafford on August 30.

Manager Amorim has received criticism for resolutely sticking to his favoured 3-4-3 formation despite United’s early-season struggles. And such defiance has led to Irish bookmaker Paddy Power deciding to troll the Portuguese by sending a bus past Old Trafford emblazoned with the words: “The only 343 that works in Manchester”.
Amorim holds discussions with minority shareholder Ratcliffe
Amorim held talks with United’s co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe on Thursday amid the club’s struggles on the pitch. However the former Sporting CP boss played down the significance of the meeting, joking that he was offered a new contract during discussions.

Amorim will hoping to preside over a much-improved performance when United entertain Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. His side are likely to face a stern test, however, with Enzo Maresca’s Blues having put together an unbeaten start which has seen them record two wins and two draws in their opening four league games.
