Inter signed Dumfries from PSV in 2021 as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi who departed to join Paris Saint-Germain. In four seasons in Italy, Dumfries has scored 23 goals and provided 26 assists making him a key player for Inter. City had expressed an interest for the player while his €25 million (£21m/$29m) release clause was in effect but did not make the decisive move.
