Laurie Evans, the 22-year-old batsman, has been released by Surrey ending an association with the club that has lasted more than a decade.He represented Surrey’s youth teams and is a graduate of the Pemberton Greenish Surrey Academy. Evans played four first-class, two one day and one Twenty20 match for Surrey and, combined with his games for Durham UCCE, has made made 525 first-class runs with a highest score of 133 not out against Lancashire.With his contract due to expire at the end of the current season, Surrey chose to announce Evans’ departure early to give him a chance to find an alternative club with which to continue his career.
