Manchester City midfielder Rodri has returned to individual training as he continues his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Spain international suffered what looked like would be a season-ending ACL injury in late September but he averred to play some part in the 2024/25 campaign. On Friday, City posted a montage of the 28-year-old training on his own, where he was put through his paces with various running and football drills.

Rodri won the 2024 Ballon d'Or, so his importance for City and Spain cannot be understated. City are having their worst season in years and it may not be a coincidence that that has coincided with the midfielder's serious injury. But if he did return to action before the season finishes, that will be a huge boost for the club.
