Obi-Martin has displayed terrific form for the United U-18 side since signing for the club from Arsenal last year. He has already scored 12 goals for the club's youth team and has also broken into the senior side. In the second half of the season, manager Ruben Amorim has provided the young striker 26 minutes of game time in the Premier League in four appearances. He also played a cameo role in the club's FA Cup clash against Fulham.

Speaking to , the French defender said, "Chido is talented. He can become one of the world’s best strikers in my opinion, if he continues his development. He scores a lot of goals and is a good boy, so I also hope that he will become one of the best. He has had his chance in a few games, and I, of course, hope that he will soon open his goal account in the first team. That will help the team."
