Tottenham fans are slightly annoyed by Toby Alderweireld’s latest comments, after the Belgian defender nonchalantly said he might stay in North London.
For quite some time, it has seemed like a forgone conclusion that Alderweireld will leave Tottenham this summer.
The centre back and his agent are at odds with the club over a new contract, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
The links to Old Trafford have gone cold recently though, and the 29 year-old has hinted he could stay with Spurs.
“Yeah, why not? I have two years left on my contract,” Alderweireld said .

“I don’t know what is going to happen.”
Of course, having a player of this quality can only mean good things for Spurs, but fans aren’t too happy with the Belgian’s comments.
Davinson Sanchez was excellent in his first season in England, and Jan Vertonghen seems to just get better every week, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if Alderweireld left for a massive fee.
The comments don’t exactly sound like a man who is desperate to bleed his heart and soul out for the club, and a section of fans aren’t too happy about it.
